10.5 HP* Briggs & Stratton • 30-Inch Cutting Deck
Get the convenience of a riding mower without giving up the compact footprint your property demands. The 2027 Cub Cadet X1 30 Compact Riding Lawn Mower combines a 10.5 HP*, 344cc Briggs & Stratton PowerBuilt engine with a 30-inch side-discharge cutting deck and Cub Cadet's 6-speed Shift-on-the-Go™ transmission.
Its space-saving design is especially appealing for smaller residential properties, tighter mowing areas, garages and sheds where a full-size lawn tractor can simply be more mower than you need. An included mulch plug gives you another way to manage clippings without buying a separate mulching kit.

The X1 30 makes sense when a walk-behind mower feels too slow but a traditional full-size lawn tractor feels too large. Cub Cadet designed the 30-inch deck and compact chassis with tighter residential spaces, gates, garages and sheds in mind.
This X1 30 uses a 6-speed Shift-on-the-Go™ CVT controlled by a hand lever. If you prefer continuously variable speed control from a foot pedal, compare the X1 30 H, which uses a hydrostatic transmission instead.
The Briggs & Stratton PowerBuilt engine delivers 10.5 gross HP* from 344cc displacement. It uses a single-cylinder configuration, electric ignition-key starting, pressurized lubrication and carbureted fuel delivery for straightforward residential operation.
Select from six forward speed settings using the dash-mounted hand control. Shift-on-the-Go™ lets you make speed adjustments as mowing conditions change without relying on a traditional manual gear-and-clutch arrangement.
The single-blade, 30-inch stamped steel deck keeps the mower compact while offering five cutting-height settings from 1.5 to 4 inches. Cub Cadet specifically designed this mower around tighter access and space-conscious storage.
The included mulch plug lets you recirculate finely cut grass clippings rather than always side discharging them. That gives you two clipping-management options from the start without requiring the purchase of a separate mulch plug.

Unlike many mowers that require a separate mulching purchase, the X1 30 includes its mulch plug. Use side discharge or install the plug for mulching. Optional grass-collection equipment may also be available; confirm model-specific fit before ordering.
Cub Cadet designed the X1 30 for tighter access and describes it as suitable for most 36-inch gate openings. Still measure the actual clear opening between posts, hinges and latches before purchase, and verify assembled dimensions when storage space is tight.
Review the operator's manual before mowing slopes, towing or performing maintenance. The rear hitch does not establish an unrestricted towing capacity; follow Cub Cadet's operating limits for the exact mower and attachment.
Cub Cadet lists the following limited warranty coverage for model 13BC26JDA10:
Residential Mower:
3-year limited
Frame:
3-year limited
Front Axle:
3-year limited
Deck Shell:
3-year limited
The Briggs & Stratton engine carries its applicable engine-manufacturer warranty. Normal wear and routine maintenance items may have different coverage or exclusions.
No commercial mower warranty is listed. Warranty coverage remains subject to the applicable manufacturer warranty documents, conditions and exclusions.
The biggest difference is the transmission. The X1 30 uses a 6-speed Shift-on-the-Go™ CVT with a hand lever. The X1 30 H uses a foot-controlled hydrostatic transmission. Both use a 10.5 HP*, 344cc Briggs & Stratton engine and a 30-inch stamped cutting deck.
It uses a 10.5 HP*, 344cc Briggs & Stratton PowerBuilt single-cylinder engine, engine model 21R707-0152.
Yes. Cub Cadet lists mulching equipment as included, and the mower is supplied with a mulch plug. That allows you to choose between side discharge and mulching without buying the plug separately.
Cub Cadet specifically markets the compact 30-inch deck for tighter spaces and most 36-inch gate openings. Measure your actual clear opening before purchasing because hinges, posts, latches and other obstructions can reduce usable width.
No. Cub Cadet's specifications list neither headlights nor an hour meter on the X1 30. The hydrostatic X1 30 H adds an LED headlight if that feature is important to you.
